As evidenced by the mismatched primer and the tons of holes half assed filled in the drywall, moving stuff around in the garage is nothing new for me. Strangely enough, we never shoehorned three vehicles in the garage when I had the Cougar. My wife was hopeful that we could get all three parked safely tucked away inside at night, and sure enough, it worked!

That let to the unfortunate problem of the garage  fridge being blocked when the 4Runner was backed in. Problem solved! I moved the fridge to the sidewall, moved my box and table to the back wall, and all is good. It actually makes for a better workspace, as the overhead lighting is now right over the folding bench.

I’m “almost” where I want to be in the garage. Get some fresh paint on the walls, add a bit of lighting, and I might (MIGHT) and a floor shelf to the wall with the fridge on it. That goes against my “nothing that is not on wheels” on the garage floor, as I like being able to empty it out easily and pressure wash the floor. My son needs to go through his toys to see what he still plays with. The other concern with a shelf, is then stuff from inside the house tends to migrate out into the garage where it doesn’t belong. That’s why I don’t have a permanent 4 leg workbench, it became a crap collector instead of a workbench. Of course, I’ll remember that statement as the parts stash for the Mustang starts to build up on my folding table.

Have you considered going with a french cleat system? Lots of work upfront, but might pay off in the long run if you like to reorganize frequently.

Your garage looks fantastic compared to mine.

Both of my garages look like a bomb went off. They desperately need a reorg, but until I get done with my current projects that’s just not going to happen.

I have in the past, and then forgot about it. My goal is nothing on that back wall, storage wise, and to use the sidewalls. I have 1950s  metal kitchen cabinets on one wall, a cleat system would probably work well on the other wall.

Thanks. I’m looking forward to getting it messy soon!

This reminds me that I need a bigger garage.

Me too! I’d just like a separate garage/outbuilding to build the Mustang in. I’m not asking for much....right?
